The Other Half
 
The “Other Half” is the title of Mr.Bijan Sayfouri‘s Project, who is a Persian Graphic designer and Photographer, this project has begun in the 2004.
In this collection, Artist tries to share his vision by indicating and putting a selection of famous and international well known artists and designer’s Black and White portraits, these portraits which are taken by him are set in Isfahan’s local atmosphere.
The main purpose and goal of this collection is to indicate and elucidate the confrontation of Persian and International Artists.
In the preface of his book, Sayfouri explains his intentions: “The Other Half is the result of a mutual trip with the western artists toward the land of Eastern Art, since the beginning of 1380 whenever I found the time, I managed these trips to Isfahan with various artist and friends whom I’ve met all around the world. Artist like Ahn Sang Soo from South Korea, Shin Matsunaga from China, Anton Pieck from Netherland, Rosmarie Tissi, Ralph Schraivogel, Melk Imboden from Sweden, Guy Schockhaert from Belgium, Stefan Sagmeister from America, are the artist who have been framed in his project.”
 
The” Other Half “Photographic Exhibition was launched in Lajevardi Foundation parallel with the Graphic International Day. Also, the complete Book and catalogue of the Other Half which was designed by the Artist himself was published through the Contemporary Art publication of Lajevardi Foundation and unveiled in the same day.
